Archaeology has got to be the most mind-numbing profession in WoW, but when RNG is kind enough to you, it can give you some of the niftiest toys around for transmog.
Like this super duper awesome Sonic Pulse Generator!
Love the sonic ray waves it generates!

The Kardashian Sisters

And last but not the least, the aptly-named Anthony D. Weiner
…do I keep digging up sh*t my Death Knight can’t even use???
..does this thing have the ability to give people I dislike the middle finger on my behalf?
Oh well, back to digging.
..I chanced upon rare elite Terror Spinner:
And I worked on archaeology hoping to get that damn sword, only to see that my next rare is a Voodoo Figurine:
I hate RNG.
Can you say TIME SINK???
And still no Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds. Sigh.
Instead I get a Haunted War Drum that’s about as useful as tits on a bull:
Good thing I have the patience of Job. Will just have to try and try until I get it.
Archaeology is definitely not for those unwilling to endure all the traveling and frustration.
When I said in a previous post that I was going to scale back my gaming a bit, I really did scale back by not running anything stressful on my main toons and by focusing on Archaeology, hoping at the same time that I would get Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds for my Death Knight, but instead, I ended up with more useless crap which brought me to a mental rage:
– a Wisp Amulet, which turns me into a wisp (duh) when I right-click it
– the Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, which whispers profound shit like “Even death may die” (whoa, heavy!) and may just very well be the Rubik’s Cube from Hell. I made several attempts to open it, hoping it would yield some really useful Bind to Account gear, but all it does is make these little moans and groans, like a weary and frustrated Satan telling his succubus she was a disappointing lay.
– Bones of Transformation, which turned me into this:
…and which lasted for 20 seconds, slightly longer than it takes for a geek to ejaculate after getting a World First.
At the rate that RNG hasn’t been kind to me, Archaeology is becoming more and more of a time sink. As the owner of several characters on different realms, I have neglected so many of them in favor of my Exodar toons’ professions, achievements and whatnot. I know I could start scaling back on Archaeology, but I am still hoping, praying, wishing that the RNG gods would take pity on me soon before I start losing my marbles.
Okay, enough drama. Back to digging.
